CABBAGE (Brassica oleracea) Hispi F1 Description:
A multi-use cabbage of good medium size heads and excellent flavour. Sow under cover in February for June cropping, or outdoors from March onwards for cutting from July to autumn. Will even overwinter from protected sowings in October. s/c 80

WHERE TO SOW   

Sow seeds thinly in pots or trays under glass at 13°C or later sowings in a seed bed outside or under cloches in shallow rows 1.5cm (3/4”) deep and 15cm (6”) apart.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

When glasshouse seedlings are about 8cm (3”) tall, prick off into trays 5cm (2”) apart Harden off as soon as possible for planting in the growing site 45cm (15”) apart in April. Thin outdoor sowings to 10cm (4”) apart and transplant when about 15cm (6”) tall.

HANDY TIP

Never plant cabbages in the ground containing fresh manure, as this encourages a mass of leaf growth with no heart.
