An old favourite for the herbaceous border unilke any other. Produces much brnached panicles of pur white flowers which almost look suspended in mid air. Much used for cut flower work and as a background plant. Sow September or March. Ht 60cm

March to May
WHERE TO SOW

Sow direct into flowering site 1cm (½") deep. Rake in or cover lightly with fine soil.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

As the seedlings develop, thin out to 20-30cm (8-12") apart to avoid overcrowding. Can also be sown in September to flower the following year.

HANDY TIP

As the stems are quite delicate the addition of support can be a benefit. Makes a nice backdrop to bolder coloured flowers.
