LEEK Musselburgh
LEEK Musselburgh Description:
An old established variety that produces thick medium length stems of strong flavour. Very winter hardy with maturity from December onwards.

WHEN TO SOW
March and April.
WHERE TO SOW
In shallow drills in a well prepared seed bed.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
As seedlings grow, thin out to 1cm apart.  Transplanting should take place late June or early July.  Either of the following methods will produce excellent results.  Take out a trench 30-37cm deep and dig in a good depth of manure.  Seedlings can then be planted 2cm deep and 25cm apart and gradually fill in the trench as plants grow.  Alternatively, use a level site and make holes 15-22cm deep and 15cm apart and drop a seedling into each hole and fill the holes with water.
MATURITY
December onwards.
