Lavender Munstead
Lavender Munstead Description:
Mauve flowers and a greener softer leaf. Very popular for hedging.

WHERE TO SOW
Outside - In spring or late summer.  The seed should be barely covered in soil and watered in dry weather.  Thin out and grow on before transplanting to final position in the second year.
Inside - In a seed tray or small pots.  Do not cover the seed but cover the tray with glass until germination occurs.  Best time to sow is in early autumn.  Seed will often germinate during the winter in a cold house and frame.  Prick out when large enough and grow on in small pots.
GROW
In full sun in well drained soil with plenty of lime.  Harvest the flowering stems when flowers are fully open and the sun is not too hot.  Dry by tying in small bunches and hanging in an airing cupboard or other warm, dark place.  Strip flowers from stems when dry.  Store in airtight jars in dark.
