SOW IN SPRING
Outdoors April/May in-situ 1cm (½”) deep in rows 30cm (12”) apart. Sow thinly. For baby leaf, thin plant to 7.5cm (3”) apart. If growin on to large plants, space at 15cm (6”). Use any thinning in salads. Soil must be kept moist, not wet. Do not over water.
AUTUMN SOWING
Outdoors as above in August/September in cold area. Cover with a cloche if weather if bad.
WINTER SOWING
In autumn in blocks or small pots and transfer late autumn into a unheated greenhouse.
HARVEST
Cut leaves regularly as spinach tenders to run to seed in very hot weather.
