SOW OUTSIDE in spring or early autumn where the plants are to grow. Prepare the soil as for grass seed if a small lawn is required. Broadcast the tiny seed (which should be well mixed with sand to facilitate spreading evenly) and rake in with a wire rake. Water well. SOW INSIDE in a seed tray from spring until late summer. Use a soiless compost and just cover the seed with very fine compost. Cover the tray with glass until germination. Prick out into small pots when large enough. GROW in fertile, well drained soil which is free of all weeds, especially perennial varieties SITE in sun or light shade HARVEST the flowers when fully open DRY by spreading on a tray in a low oven (door ajar) STORE in an airtight jar in a cool, dark store. USE a rea made from the flowers to calm the nerves and as a mild sedative. The tea is alos very beneficial used as a rinse for blonde hair. Chamomile makes a lovely and fragrant lawn which thrives for being walked on. To keep the lawn dense do not allow to flower. Also a top dressing of fine soil and compost is beneficial.
