Bee plant from North America. Lovely mauve/purple flower spikes for long season. Anise scented leaves, for tea and flavouring. Ht 60cm

USES
Anise originates in North America used as a breath-freshener, as a tea, and as a sweetener. The Leaves are used as poultices for sores. It is used in dried flower arrangements and essential oils. It is a good source of nectar.
HOW TO GROW
Sow the seeds outside in the spring or late summer. The seed can be grown in any good garden soil that retains moisture preferably in the sun. If you wish to sow the seeds inside they need to be placed in a box of seed compost during the growing season. Cover the seeds. Prick out when large enough to handle and grow in smaller pots. Plant out from spring to September. Propagation also by division of the root in spring Anise Hyssop is a most decorative plant and with its large flower heads will attract the bees.
