A special mixture of flower especially formulated for BIRD WATCHING Magazine to attract the colourful seed-eating birds into the garden. Green and goldfinches. linnets and tits will all find this patch a magnet! Mixture will also be most attractive to bees and butterflies and produce colour and interest through the season. 5gm packet will seed approx 5 sq mtrs. SOWING YOUR MIXTURE Sow as soon as you receive it. Mark out a piece of well prepared ground (approx 5sq metres per packet). Sow the seeds by scattering thinly on the soil and lightly rake it. The large Sunflower seeds can be picked out of the mixture (by far the largest seeds) and planted 12" or more apart and half inch deep. MAINTENANCE Leave the dead stems and seed heads over the winter for the birds and cut down in the early spring when new growth is starting. It is important to try and keep the patch free of grass which will tend to take over if left.
